Smolen Emr Ilkovitch Architects (SEI) is a growing, dynamic architectural firm established in 1959 seeking multiple positions from Graduate Architect through Senior Project Architect. Being a member of a community-based design firm, you will be a part of synthesizing the needs of multiple stakeholders through various interactions including internal charrettes, focus groups, committee / community meetings, design reviews, and board meetings using a variety of mediums to communicate and gather ideas.

SENIOR PROJECT ARCHITECT

As a SEI Senior Project Architect, it will be your job to lead projects in their entirety from design through construction. You will communicate effectively with clients and consultants, lead committee meetings to extract and synthesize stakeholder input, and ultimately be responsible for the quality execution of a project that is on schedule and within budget. As an office that fosters mentorship, you will lead enthusiastic architectural staff and offering technical guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • 4 or more years of experience
  • Licensure is preferred but not required
  • Experience in projects from design through construction
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office is preferred
  • Ability to manage design and consultant teams and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction and building structures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Participate in business development and new project pursuits.

GRADUATE ARCHITECT

As an Architect at SEI, you will be assigned to a team and will collaborate on multiple, simultaneous community based projects in various stages of design and construction. You and your team will interact with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to execute the design with the highest level of quality. You will be mentored by senior staff to become a well rounded architect with experience in all facets of the architectural process.

SEI ENVIRONMENT

At SEI we foster a collaborative environment in our studio located in Rockville, Maryland but also offer a hybrid work policy. Our office is conveniently located to I-270 and ICC with free covered parking and free uber to/from Shady Grove Metro and local restaurants/shops.
