MCPS’ BOE has approved the preliminary plans for the Takoma Park Middle School Addition. Two targeted additions will provide much needed classrooms, science labs, music room, PE spaces and an expanded cafeteria to accommodate the growing student population. Great care was taken to develop the footprint and massing strategies of the additions in coordination with outdoor community amenities that are vital to the use of the school as a community hub. Features such as the outdoor athletics venues, a popular sledding hill, and observation terraces are all enhanced in the proposed design.
